The Village Centre vision becomes a reality…
Househunters are snapping up properties in and around the new Kingswood Parks Village Centre, where a whole host of facilities are now just a stone’s throw away from them.
Kingswood Parks has undoubtedly become one of Hull’s most attractive residential areas over recent years, thanks to its proximity to the development’s thriving leisure and retail parks offering a vast array of places to go and things to do including everything from Cineworld, Hollywood Bowl and David Lloyd Leisure, through to restaurants such as Chiquito’s, Frankie and Bennys and Pizza Hut. Shops are aplenty in Kingswood Parks too, with national brands such as Next, Brantano and Matalan occupying units.
Now, the latest piece in the development’s jigsaw is in place – the village centre. This is a welcome step for local residents right across the existing development of more than 1,700 homes (plus an additional 1,500 either under construction or with outline planning permission) populated by a huge cross-section of singles, couples and families alike thanks to such a vast array of apartments, houses and executive homes available.
Residents are already enjoying village style shops and services being available on their doorstep. Top of the residents’ wish lists was a convenience store, a pharmacy, a hairdresser and a coffee shop. This vision is now a reality, with The Co-op mini supermarket already open, as well as Jhoots Pharmacy, The Hair Room and The Village Green Cafe-Bar all being popular new features.
Kingswood Parks has continued to develop apace since it was voted “the best place to live in Hull” in a 2006 council poll. Kingswood Parks Development Company worked closely with, and indeed consulted, local residents on the kind of services they wanted to see in the village centre.
The vision for Kingswood Parks Village Centre is to create a real community hub offering local village services set around a picturesque village green and public square, with footpaths, cycle routes, and greenways providing easy access to the new amenities.
