The Village Retreat was recently named Most Wanted Salon in the North East in the English Hair and Beauty Awards – a title it is going for again in 2020.

With nails, massages, waxing and more, the reputation of the salon’s holistic approach to ensuring clients look and feel at their very best is growing among local residents and beyond.

Emma Wray owns the family-run business with her mum Kerry and says the salon is thriving.

She said: “We were so pleased to be nominated for the award earlier this year. It was an achievement just to be shortlisted so when we heard the name of our little salon from Kingswood announced as
winners on the night it was a little overwhelming.

“We have had so much support from the local community. We’re going for the award again next year so here’s hoping.”

Eight experienced staff currently work at The Village Retreat, offering a whole range of treatments ensuring local residents don’t need to travel far for all their beauty requirements.

Emma said: “The salon has been really busy and successful since day one. We’ve been so well supported by the local community, but word has also spread further afield.

“As Kingwood Parks continues to grow, we are still seeing lots of new clients booking in all the time.

“Looking to the future we want to grow. In the last year we’ve added microblading to the list of treatments we offer which is a semi-permanent tattoo for your brow. We’re listening to what clients want us to offer as they want us to have it all under one roof. “We do have a few exciting plans for 2020, so watch this space…!”
