Kingswood Parks Development Company is delighted to announce a unisex hair salon has opened in the Village Centre.
Caroline Scott, who already has a large client base in Kingswood from her mobile hairdressing business, has opened The Hair Room after her business plan stood out over other proposals.
She said: “I am very excited to get started, the Village Centre is getting busier with the addition of the Co-op and the pharmacy and I am sure it will be very popular.
“The salon will be in the middle of a thriving community and I am looking forward to the challenge.
“My clients in Kingswood have said they are excited for the salon to open and I am delighted to be here.”
Caroline has an extensive background in the hairdressing industry – owning a salon for seven years before turning to mobile hairdressing for the last four years.
Now, she believes it is the right time to return to owning a salon.
Caroline said: “When I heard about the opportunity in Kingswood Parks, I could not pass it up.
“It will be the only hair salon in such a huge catchment area and with the Village Centre being in the heart of the community, I hope it will be a success.
“It was the right time and the right area to establish a new salon.”
The Hair Room is set to create a number of jobs and will also introduce an apprenticeship scheme, which will see a hairdressing student attend college for one day a week while working in the salon for the remaining four days.
A spokesman for Kingswood Parks Development Company said: “Caroline demonstrated she has vast amounts of experience in operating her own salon and a successful mobile hairdressing business.
“We believe her proposal was strong and she will make the most of the client base she has developed in Kingswood over the last four years.
“Kingswood Parks is delighted to welcome The Hair Room to the Village Centre, which is continuing to take shape to become a flourishing community hub.”
