Kingswood College of Arts makes the grade

The atmosphere was tense at Kingswood College of Arts this Summer as students anxiously awaited their GCSE results. The students had mixed thoughts of what they were going to achieve.

This soon changed as relief and excitement hit the school and they were rewarded with the results that they had spent all year working for.

Kingswood College of Arts boasts some outstanding success stories amongst the students that attend the school. The majority of students excelled, achieving a high standard of 8 to 10 GCSEs with grades A to C (including Maths and English).

One pupil was diagnosed with glandular fever at the most critical time of his GCSE studies, but this didn’t hinder his performance as he came out with a fantastic 10 GCSE grades including an A* in Physical Education.

A large proportion of students even achieved between 10 and 15 GCSE results – the school had seven male and eight female high achievers who achieved more than 11 A to C grades.

One student even achieved 13 GCSEs, which included six A* grades and
three A grades including Maths and Further Maths. He was more than happy with his results and it shows that all that revision does pay off.

The heart of the success at the school was the students with Special educational Needs (SEN), 22% gained at least five A* to C grades, one particular student on the SEN register gained 12 A* to C grades and two other female students got 10 A* to C grades.

Overall, the school has more than exceeded previous years, the students have worked extremely hard and this school is pulling out all the stops to give the students of Kingswood College of Arts the best education possible, encouraging them to progress onto higher education.
